The course aims to familiarize students with issues related to big data management, with particular emphasis on Semantic Web applications. In addition to the basic theoretical foundations, the course will also include practical training and programming in a variety of tools and technologies, such as, indicatively, Hadoop, Spark, RDF, SPARQL, ontology APIs. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: - know the basic principles of big data management and the Semantic Web. - use Semantic Web technologies - develop applications that manage large volumes of data on a computer cluster
