Course Content (English) Overview of mobile communication networks emphasizing on 2G GSM and eG UMTS technologies. Architecture of mobile communication systems subsystems, functional layers, physical architecture, range, mobility. Management of radio channels operations and maintenance, handover, handover at a multi-layered architecture. Mobility management location awareness and localization processes. Communication management call control, call establishment, supplementary services, message services. Systems and standardization GSM, HSCSD and GPRS, UMTS. Signalling common channel, SS7, signaling protocols. Overview of 4th and 5th generation systems.
